This piece on salt (NaCl) is very well done, and particularly important. From my understanding, apparently salt intake accumulates in terms of its effects on the body. So people ingesting larger than minimally sufficient amounts of salt over a decade or more will have potential problems with hypertension, kidney disease and congestive heart failure.
The numero uno way to lower your sodium intake is to cook for yourself, bottom line. It’s amazing but anything processed, in a can, etc. will be laden with salt.
