As a NYC resident, I have yet to practice in a private home or apartment, and would love to try that out one day! I do have to say in defense of Pure Yoga, they have some AMAZING teachers. Sure, you see a ton of Lululemon and workout-yoga types, but that does not mean we aren't there first and foremost for the spiritual connectedness and discipline that true yoga demands. In fact, I just wrote a great post today about one of Pure's teachers who has literally transformed my life with his teachings in and outside the studio: http://lifestylerepublic.com/2010/08/12/taking-yoga-beyond-the-mat/I think we can all agree that no matter where the class is held, the teacher and student's intentions make all the difference.
