I love wearing a heart rate monitor. It provides real data and takes the guess out of the the question, “how hard am I working out?” I totally agree with Marino’s advice to start with buying simple and go from there. That’s what I did years ago– except for a minor foray into a watch with multiple features that only confused me (got talked into that by a techie bike sales person). I use a simple FS20 Polar. It is easy to see with large numbers since I tend not to wear reading glasses during a spinning class or when biking.
