Packing for Wanderlust with Sadie Nardini
Sadie Nardini, creator of Core Strength Vinyasa Yoga, attended the first-ever Wanderlust Festival last year and will be out in Squaw Valley again for year’s event. The yogi, who keeps a travel schedule that’s as packed as her classes, shared her seasoned self-care advice and packing tips with Well+Good.
What to wear: “Come prepared for anything,” advises Nardini. “It can be cold and rainy or it can be hot. So I like to wear several layers that can be peeled off. Start with a bathing suit, then yoga clothes, then a shirt or a wrap, a light jacket and a scarf.”
What to pack: “Bring a cute bag for all the essentials that you can swing over your shoulder or across your chest. You’ll want to have your hands free for dancing. Definitely carry sunscreen. It’s easy to get really into what you’re doing and forget that you’re in the sunshine for eight hours.” She also loads up her suitcase with a week’s worth of yoga clothes. (Well+Good tip: Roll them up, rather than laying them flat, to save space.)
When you’re there: “Make sure to drink lots and lots of water. You’re having so much fun that it takes your attention away from self-care. I’m a big proponent of being self-sufficient at any outdoor event. Carry a bottle of water with you everywhere. Lines can get really long so make sure you have a few energy bars. You need to take care of yourself, so you have lots of vitality!”
Why Nardini loves Wanderlust: “We all have our yoga studios that we go to. This is a fantastic and inspiring way to get to know your Kula (community) on this larger level. It’s a family reunion of the spirit. And it’s really relaxed. You can just walk up and start talking to Shiva Rea and John Friend.”
