I love spinning since it’s a great workout for muscle groups that aren’t targeted by my usual cardio (running).
I spin because I can put myself on my own road. I originally learned spinning with a teacher who was also a pro bike racer, and continue to attack my road, dance on the bike, and climb my personal mountains every day. I spin at home, so this prize would help me refresh my spinning practice and push myself.
I love spinning since I can “get on the road” and get a great workout regardless of the weather.
I love spinning for the escape and invigoration – it’s a workout indoors that brings the outdoors and vacation with it
The primary reason I love spinning is that I can envision everyone at work who thinks they are better than me falling behind me, completely exhausted and panting, while I speed ahead. They finally realize that I am a force to be reckoned with and it wouldn’t hurt them to have a little more respect.
Oh, yeah, and it burns a lot of calories, makes you feel ten times lighter once you finish a class, etc., etc. Seriously, spin class is one out of two occasions in life where I really don’t mind sweating a whole bunch ;)
to be quite honest, I have never taken a spinning class but have been totally curious and interested for some time now and it’s time to get my 41 year old butt in “gear”
I love spinning cause it changes my body and my state of mind – clears away the cobwebs in my head and the fat cells off my bum.
I spin because I love the challenge that each class brings. I enjoy the thought that goes into each class by the instructor from the playlist to the ride itself. Spin class is extremely motivational and a great challenge.
I’ve been spinning for over 7 years (OMG!) and I am still love it. Most of the time I get bored of working out, but spinning is always exciting for me. It’s really important to find a great instructor who plays really good and exciting music. It totally makes a different ride if the music is good. Also, the myth that spinning makes your legs even thicker is a lie. I’ve always had muscular legs and by now my legs should be enormous, but they aren’t! They actually are leaner.
I love trying all the different spinning studios in Manhattan. I’ve heard good things about Asphalt Green, so their new studio is definitely on my list of spin studios to try!
Although this may sound cheesy, spinning is a great workout not only for your body but for your spirit. I rarely – I mean never – leave a spin class without smiling. It’s so motivating and challenging and a great way for runners or those stuck in a rut to break up their workout routine.
I started spinning years ago after I became completed jaded by running and now I try to include both into my exercise routine.
Thanks for another awesome giveaway W&G!
I’m new to spinning, but I love pushing through my limits and challenging myself to ride harder every time.
I’ve never tried this before, and have been intrigued every time I pass by one of these classes. I’d really love to win this because I’d get a chance to try it out and shed the weight!!! Also, I’m in need of a good pool!!!! I’m more excited than I have a right to be. LOL Thanks for hosting this fab giveaway. I will now follow @AsphaltGreen and @WellandGoodNYC in twitter!
Best,
Li

I love spinning because it really challenges me. I am not the most athletic person, so spinning really pushes me beyond my comfort zone.. on a funny note, i don’t know how to ride a bike, so spinning is the closest thing i will get to riding a bike :-) i would so love to win this..
spinning is my safest form of cardio as someone who no longer runs. i need it!
I love spinning cause it’s a cathartic workout. Makes me sweat out all the negative energy from my week.
SWEAT! SWEAT!
Spinning allows me to forget all the troubles of the day and just focus on ME! It’s my ride, my journey, my heartbeat pounding in my ears! :) I leave it all in the studio after each and every ride!
This is awesome!!! Asphalt Green is right next to my new apartment and I’ve been dying to get inside.
I love spinning because you get the environment of a group fitness class, but the difficulty is entirely your own. I get to crank up the resistance on days I feel great, but I can ease up a little on recovery days. Regardless, I also leave spin sessions feeling pumped and super sweaty!
I like to Spin because it keeps me in shape
The few times I’ve done spin classes, I’ve realized that it really motivates me! A great instructor can do a lot!
I love spinning because it’s the most sweaty, intense, endorphin-boosting workout there is! I love how instructors motivate you to turn up the resistance more than you think you can, and when you’re done it feels awesome!!
Why do I love to spin? I love the music, I love the instructors, and I love the way it makes me feel. There really is no better cardio. It makes my winters warmer and my summers brighter because I’ll look that much better in a bathing suit!
I love spinning because it was a fear I conquered! I was so embarrassed to spin when I first started, I was fearful of adjusting the seat, worried I didn’t have the right shoes/outfit etc etc. I sucked it up one day, came to class early and asked for help, got on a bike and i’ve been spinning ever since!! It’s also so helpful as a runner to have a low-impact cardio exercise.

Spinning is the BEST form of cross training. I am primarily a distance runner (and wanna-be triathlete) and spin class does wonders for my legs. My favorite time to take a spin class is the day after a long run – my legs are so tired, but after the class, I feel like a new woman. I love to feed off the energy in the dark room, high powered music, and the knowledge that everyone is working just as hard as you are. Plus, it’s an amazing way to keep up your bike-fitness when the weather doesn’t allow you to get out on the road bike!
I love spinning because of a few reasons: a) it’s at your own pace – you make your workout! b) you can spin your stress away c) it’s a great calorie burning workout d) it’s challenging – many people are surprised in the end about how hard they pushed themselves – gives me the feeling of accomplishment e) it’s also a great group exercise – and brings everyone from different backgrounds and experiences together
Because of all this – I became a spinning instructor!
Spinning’s a blast because you have that “animal pack” mentality. You’re all doing it together, whether you’re with close friends or not – look to your left/right/behind and you’re with your pack. It’s encouraging and awesome.
I love to spin because it is an amazing workout with great music and the support of other people whose energy you can feed off of!
I’m new to spinning, but love it!
I love spinning because nothing compares to a workout that makes you sweat to amazing music (especially house remixes!)
Spinning is such a great workout! I love pushing myself past what I think I am capable of!
Spinning is an excellent challenge as your biggest competiter is yourself. It allows you to get a great workout, listen to awesome music, and unlike a ton of the entertaining work outs in manhattan, you can spin rain or shine!!
I love to spin because it is an amazing expedited way to get in shape, especially with summer right around the corner. It is the kind of workout that makes you feel accomplished afterwards because you know you really worked for it!
There’s nothing like the feeling you get after a GREAT class. It’s like coming off a wonderful, sexual climax.
I started spinning as a means to change up my monotonous workout routine. As a runner, I often think only about pushing myself to be faster and stronger. In the confines of a spin class, though, you’re with a group- laying it all out for an awesome class. I feel connected every time I spin- moreso when it’s a really tough class and we all let out that exasperated sigh/grunt after the last grueling sprint or hill!
I love spinning because I’m competitive – I push myself harder when I see all the other spinners sweating and panting!
I started spinning after a serious ankle injury about 10 years ago towards the end of my physical therapy treatment. It was the first time I was able to get the cardio burn I used to get from running before the injury, and it also did a great job of sculpting my legs and helping me rebuild strength in my ankles until I was healthy again. Spinning is now a part of my exercise regimen, but I have yet to try the facilities at Asphalt Green! I live right across the street and have been dying to check it out – what a great opportunity!
I love spin as an alternative to my solo runs – it really is my favorite group workout. I love getting pumped up and motivated by great instructors, awesome music and a great community vibe!
I love love love spinning (I used to have my own spin bike when I lived in L.A. and I miss it a lot!)! I’m a yoga teacher but still a very type A, New Yorker personality and sometimes you just have to go fast and sweat out your aggravations!
I started spinning as a way to lose weight but now it’s become a part of me. I love it. Each instructor has a different approach, which makes each ride different. Spin is a way to challenge myself, break a sweat and clear my head. What’s not to love?
I recently fell in love with spinning. I have lost 11 pounds, I feel great and the music just puts me into a workout zone where I just feel like I can accomplish anything. It is so much fun and I wish I could spin every single day.
I love spinning because it targets some of my body’s most important muscle groups, and helps get me in shape for the other sports I love (crew and skating).
Spinning is madness! I had run two marathons – but my first spinning class left me a sweaty wreck… Who would have thought that a marathoner could be so unfit? Well, a marathoner also certainly loves a challenge – and currently I try to go to a spinning class at least twice a week. It’s intense, doesn’t hurt my knees and it’s a hugely efficient form of exercise. All rather very sane reasons to be doing it!
I used to hate spin. Until a couple of months ago, I was always turned off by the intensity and die-hard fans of the cycling workout. After taking it a few weeks ago, I am hooked. Now, I want to find a gym or studio that I will fall in lvoe with — and I know Asphalt Green has an amazing program!
I LOVE spinning and have been taking classes since Johnny G brought it to Miami in the 90s. For me, there is no other work out like it. I have tried Soul Cycle, Fly Wheel and Equinox. I would love to try spinning here, too! For me,the rush and high I get from spinning is what I equate to what runners get from running. Truly a GREAT experience to be able to clear your mind and focus at the task at hand!
I’m still somewhat new to spin classes, but I’m absolutely obsessed. Training as a dancer all my life, spin has been a wonderful addition to my training. I love being in a place where I can push myself to utter exhaustion and walk away feeling practically high from the endorphin rush! I also love being able to sweat so much! What a wonderful detox!
It’s a GREAT and FUN way to get back in shape after having a baby!
New to spinning, but would love to give it a whirl!!! :)
After moving up to the UES from Florida, I miss my bike back home like crazy.
This would be a great way to get back into biking!
I love spinning because a great class takes you out of the silliness and forces you to work harder than you thought you could. That and you walk out of spin clear headed and skinnier!!
I love spinning because you can move to the beat of the music and that helps drive your energy. You are constantly challenged not only with the ride but when the music picks up you automatically pick up your pace. This pushes me even more than a normal ride outside. Its the perfect combo.
I love spinning. Hands down it is my favorite cardio workout and one that I don’t get to do nearly enough!
Spinning is a great way to get fit and shed fat.
GREAT WAY TO MAINTAIN MY LEG MUSCLES HEALTHY ACTIVE AND BEAUTIFUL….GREAT WAY TO KEEP YOUNG AND FEEL HEART HAPPY… (*_~)
I had reached a plateau in my workouts where I just couldn’t get lean. Unlike other cardio methods I used before (i.e. running, stair climber, elyptical) I was in a group atmosphere that motivated me to continue when I was slowing down. I was in control of my workout also. It incorporates all my muscles, even my core and gives me the benefit of raising and lowering my heart rate for an interval workout that speeds my metabolism long after I am done. I have dropped a pant size and have lost 2 inches from my waist. I also have tons more energy and I sleep better at night. The best part is that the music makes it SO MUCH FUN!
it’s a great cross training workout for marathon training.
i DONT love spinning, but know its benefits and is good for me. i lack cardio in my workouts, do alot of yoga, but i knoweth that i need some spinning pumpin adrenaline in my life. holla!
I love it because it’s the fastest 45 (or 60) minute workout ever!
I love spinnng because it works out my legs muscles and helps me burn calories and do my cardio work!
And the winner is…Christine Hackett! Congratulations to you. The rest of us are super jealous.
