This Week in Wellness: Revolutionary running, free Barry’s Bootcamp, and more
You made it through this short sprint of a week. Our gift to you? This weekly roundup of wellness tidbits, healthy hints, and new places and products that caught our eye. Happy Friday!
Revolutionary running. Did you know the largest battle of the Revolutionary War was fought in Brooklyn? Either way, you can commemorate it by running in JackRabbit’s Battle of Brooklyn 10-miler in Prospect Park on August 21. If you register by today, it’s just $20.
Lulu loves Barry’s. Barry’s Bootcamp is Lululemon’s July “Studio of the Month,” which means they’ll be hosting a free class every Thursday at 4:00 p.m. Classes are first come, first serve, but Well+Good readers get an exclusive chance to reserve a spot by emailing [email protected]. *First-time bootcampers only.
The Yanks go Vegan. Grubstreet reported that, starting this weekend, Babycake’s gluten-free, vegan frozen chocolate-chip-cookie sandwiches and brownie-cream sandwiches will be on the menu of Yankee Stadium’s Legends Suite. We see faux-meat hot dogs in their not-so-distant future.
More free yoga (for people who work late). Free classes are popping up all over town. This week, Laughing Lotus added two weekly donation-based community classes to their schedule: 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Perfect for those of you stuck at work until after 6:00!
