Finally, natural skin-care products for tweens

Good for you girlsSkin care is a crucial part of adolescence—hormones are raging, and acne is blazing.

And most brands that target tweens and teens—like Neutrogena and Clearasil—use harsh chemicals to handle it.

Good For You Girls wants to change that. As the first all-natural beauty brand to target tweens (according to the company), they’re hoping to become the go-to product line for these growing girls.

Westerly Natural Market in Midtown recently added the line to its shelves, and the products have been selling like candy. The line will also be sold alongside some of the city’s favorite adult indie brands at The Organic Beauty Bar this December.

“Not only have girls in their tweens been completely neglected by beauty companies,” says co-founder Kim Grustas.”Any products targeted to them are inferior or just plain toxic.”

Instead of containing controversial ingredients like parabens, propylene glycol, and benzoyl peroxide, Good For You Girls’ products are mad with skin-balancing organic plant oils and natural salicylic acid. Which sounds like a great start for developing healthy habits into adulthood.
