My Five Beauty Obsessions: Anne-Marie van Dijk
Since she was discovered at age 14, Dutch model Anne-Marie van Dijk has graced the cover of Vogue and worked with clients like Armani, Louis Vuitton, and Dior.
In 2011, van Dijk decided to make her own mark on the industry that shaped her by founding Cleanse, an initiative that helps models live healthy lifestyles while managing the pressures of a brutal profession.
She also makes clean-living recommendations. We couldn’t wait to see which beauty products the model and healthy living guru/activist uses and loves:
1. Pratima Kumari Liquid Cleanser ($19)
Pratima Spa, founded by Dr. Pratima Raichur, is known for its unique healing products and treatments that are good for body and planet. This cleanser is a must-have in my travel kit! It nourishes the skin and is great for all skin types. Plus it works really well as an eye and face makeup remover.
2. Jiva Apoha Body Oils ($50–$85)
This amazing company blends Ayurveda knowledge with Native American Indian herbalism in their amazing healing oils. Founder Angela Shore is a bit of a Shaman and she custom-makes them for your needs. The blends are 100 percent botanicals, minerals, and therapeutic grade essential oils. I use mine daily to hydrate.
3. Organic Bee Yummy Honey Mask ($22)
Photoshoots can be quite stressful on the skin. To soothe and rejuvenate my skin after an intense day, I use Bee Yummy’s 100 percent raw and organic Honey Mask. Honey’s amazing—it has anti-bacterial properties and fights signs of aging. The mask leaves my skin looking fresh and glowing.
4. Tata Harper All-Natural Repairative Moisturizer ($100)
This is one of my all-time favorite moisturizers. Although it’s a little pricey, the whole line is non-toxic and 100 percent natural. Most of the ingredients are sourced from Tata Harper’s own personal organic herb-and-flower garden in Vermont!
5. RMS Beauty Living Luminizer ($38)
I firmly believe no makeup kit is complete without Rose-Marie Swift’s raw and organic Luminizer. I use this one-of-a-kind product to add a natural glow to my face. I add a touch to my brow bones, the bridge of my nose, the bow of my lips, and my upper cheekbone area, and it creates a fresh look as I run from business meeting to a casting. A few highlights go a long, long way.
