Refrigerator Look Book: Kimberly Snyder
Kimberly Snyder is a beauty guru who’s not interested in what you put on your skin—she’s interested in what you put in your mouth.
As a nutritionist and the author of The Beauty Detox Solution, Snyder believes that health and beauty are one and the same—better nutrition is the best way to maximize outer beauty.
We peeked inside her fridge to find out what makes her glow.
Wow! Is your fridge always this full? Yes, it looks like that pretty much all the time except the night before I leave to travel somewhere.
I’ve never seen that many greens in a fridge before! How do you eat them all before they go bad? I make my signature drink, The Glowing Green Smoothie, as well as tons of salads and other dishes for myself and many of my clients. I am always making food for at least a few clients, hence the crazy loads of produce.
You also have a ton of berries. What do you do with those? I made different salads with them, mixing them together and tossing with sliced avocado and a lime-stevia mixture, for instance.
How about the coconuts—where do you buy them whole like that? Do you drink the water or eat the whole thing? I go down to Chinatown every week where I have a good quality supplier and buy them by the box. I use the water for spirulina shakes, and I use the meat for either Coconut Green smoothies or for various other recipes. I adore coconuts and think they have a lot of beautifying properties.
What does a typical dinner look like for you? Dinner always starts with an enormous dark leafy green salad (I tend to rotate between curly kale, Lacinato kale, mixed greens and arugula) with a dressing that includes lemon and nutritional yeast for added amino acids and B vitamins, among other items. I usually add sprouts of some kind (sunflower are my favorite), avocado, and chop up any other veggies that happen to be in my fridge. I’ll cook something from my cookbook that may include quinoa, millet, veggies, and brown rice wraps.
Of everything in your fridge, what food would you say contributes the most to your outer beauty? Why? Many foods work synergistically, and I discuss in length in my program what qualifies as a Beauty Starch, a Beauty Fat, Beauty Protein, and so on. But if I had to point out one group of foods to build beauty, I would say leafy green vegetables. They are the most nutrient-dense of all foods groups, packed with beautifying vitamins, minerals, fiber, antioxidants, essential fatty acids, amino acids and other phytonutrients.
For women who want to eat foods that contribute to beauty, what’s your number one tip? Start drinking my Glowing Green Smoothie! Get that glowing skin for yourself. —Lisa Elaine Held
So inspiring! This is what I want my fridge to look like. What are the two red items on the bottom shelf? Thanks!
ArizonaGigi, those are pomegranates. Amazing superfood!
Ive read your book Beauty Detox Solution and have been incorporating as much including Glowing Green Juice. Love it! However, I really have difficulty eating your probiotic salad. Do you have other option. Should I just take a supplement or drink miso soup?
I have been devouring your book for several weeks now. It’s extreme, but I’m doing the best I can with it. Thanks for all your knowledge! Tried the Glowing Green Smoothie today—tried so hard to keep an open mind—but if this is what it takes to be beautiful, I’m going to have to be ugly forever I think. I love all these foods that go into it (with the exception of celery which I did not use). Can I just eat these things separately- and whole instead of in the smoothie? Or can berries or something be added to sweeten it up or something?? I had to gag down the last of it. I really am trying to be open to this!
I have been drinking the Glowing Green Smoothie for 3 weeks, as well as carefully combining my foods, in particular not eating fruit after lunch. I also cut back my milk intake by almost nothing! The changes started to happen within days I started. My skin is very smooth and clear, I can’t believe how quickly it all happen, plus I have tons of extra energy, my body and eyes don’t feel heavy in the morning anymore. This book has done wonders for me!! Thank you Kim!!

I love Kim! The knowledge she shares in her book (beauty detox solution) is incredibly eye opening but not in an overwhelming way. She has this great way of basically telling the reader how it is with foods and why effects have its cause.
