Michael Bernard Beckwith, featured in The Secret, comes to NYC
This weekend, New York City is getting a spiritual infusion with a visit from Michael Bernard Beckwith, a featured teacher in the film The Secret, and the founder and spiritual director of Agape International Spiritual Center in Los Angeles, California.
Beckwith’s the creator of Life Visioning, a “transformational technology” that’s based on the work of discovering your true self to find fulfillment.
What does that mean? Uber-motivated New Yorkers successfully climbing the corporate ladder, killing it at the gym, and already rocking spring’s must-have cobalt-blue pants might also be wondering why they don’t love their lives more.
In his new book Life Visioning: A Transformative Process for Activating Your Unique Gifts and Highest Potential, Beckwith explains that Life Visioning “empowers us to capture the highest vision for our life and materialize it.” Less settling for stuff and chasing after things, and more looking within.
At Beckwith’s talk and workshop this weekend, he’ll explain how to identify your talents and skills and how to deliver them to the world. He’ll also teach you how to harness more creativity and prosperity.
Expect to dig deep to aim high with Beckwith: He’ll ask you to embark on the first steps of “breaking any agreements you’ve consciously or unconsciously made with mediocrity, which fundamentally impacts our life structures,” he said in an email to Well+Good this week.
Beckwith’s ideas (and language) about co-creating with the universe might be too impassioned for the attendee there just for advice about how to take their career to the next level, but, hey, even skeptics have breakthroughs. —Jennifer Kass
