Dr. Oz’s head-to-toe tips for curing stress
By Mehmet C. Oz and Michael F. Roizen, MD for Prevention.com
Stress isn’t just in your head. It manifests itself in your body in the form of knotted muscles, painful digestion, troubled sleep, and worse. To deal with such chronic discomfort, you need to have a biological bag of stress-busting tricks. Read on for fast ways to relax any part of your body—as soon as tension strikes.
FLEX YOUR FACE. Scrunch tightly (grimace like someone is about to drop something on your toes) for 15 seconds, then release. Repeat several times. This repetitive contraction and relaxation helps relieve any strain that you’re holding above the neck.
MELT AWAY MUSCLE TIGHTNESS. The yoga move called Thread the Needle opens your upper back and shoulders. Start out on your hands and knees, palms under your shoulders. Exhaling, slide your right arm along the floor under your left arm, palm down, lowering your right shoulder to the floor. Rest your right ear and cheek on the floor. To deepen the stretch, try bending your left elbow as low as you comfortably can. Hold for 30 seconds, then come back to the starting position on your hands and knees; switch sides.

Hi I’m new to this page but I’d like to tell a lil about myself and ask a couple of questions. I have never had any health problems, I just turned 31 and a mother to 3 beautiful boys. In January of 2012 my grandmother passed away and my mother (my bestfriend) had a massive stroke which left her brain dead. This all happened in our home so we had to try everything to revive her. She didn’t make it. Through out the year my bother in law passed the same as my mom in my home with a massive stroke. A few months later another close relative passed and a few months after that my father in law was found dead in his apartment.
In October of this year I had my first panic attack. I was convinced I was having a heart attack. Rushed to er to be told it was PA. I was sure they were wrong! By this point I have changed Dr 4 times and been to the er over 30 times. I’m seeing a shrink and still not convinced there’s nothing wrong with me.
About 4 months ago I started having bad chest pains with out an attack and they tell me its acid reflux. It had gotten so bad that I’ve had to cut almost all foods out. No red meats, fried foods, fatty foods, high acidic foods . I basically live on Scrabbled eggs. Now I stay weak and have bad dizziness. Almost like I’m on a boat all day. Drs can’t find any reason or rhyme for any of my problems.
At this moment I’m terrified to go to sleep cause the pain in my chest and all I wanna do is go to er and have another ekg done. I’ve had 7 ekg had the 24 hour chest monitor. Had cat scans every other main organ checked and every blood test possible. Yet still can’t find any peace.
Is there anyone else like this or am I really going crazy?!
