This Week in Wellness: Yoga teacher Barbie, Subway goes vegan, and more

yoga teacher barbieWelcome to our weekly roundup of wellness news we’ve spotted and reported throughout the week. Our Page Six!

Barbie has officially become a yoga teacher. Target is selling a yogi version of every little girl’s best friend, complete with pink yoga mat and tiny chihuahua. The dog makes us think she’s an animal lover—maybe she’s a Jivamukti grad?

Subway announced it will start selling vegan sandwiches—a Sweet Riblet, Malibu Greek, and Italian Black Bean—in select DC-area locations. No word yet on what will actually be on said sandwiches.

Chic-and-clean nail salon TenOverTen opened its second location in Underground at Le Parker Meridien Hotel on Thursday and also launched a new collection of color-popping polishes for summer.

The real estate market may not be great, but some New York buildings are adding a whole new level of healthy amenities—24-hour vegan room service, on-site yoga classes, triathlon training centers, and flower essence consultations, to name a few.

Barry’s Bootcamp added a new celeb instructor to its New York roster. Natalie Raitano (who was on television’s VIP with Pamela Anderson) has been teaching on the West Coast for over a decade, and will now be teaching in Chelsea and the Hamptons.

Tracy Anderson launched a line of luxe workout leggings for Edition01 that come in four body types.

The Punk Rope team announced they’ll host the 4th Annual Punk Rope Games on June 24th in Williamsburg. So far, 9 teams have signed on to compete for the “Punk Rope Cup,” and you can cheer on their bad-ass rope jumping or enter your own team (if you rock a mean double-dutch).
