Celebrate women’s sports with free workouts this Saturday

This Saturday, Nike will take over Hudson River Park’s Pier 46 for a full day of free workouts, yoga, and music.

The “Celebration of Sport” honors the fortieth anniversary of Title IX, the legislation that paved the way for women in sports, and lots of fit women will be there to celebrate.

Star trainers Lacey Stone and Holly Rilinger will teach an interval workout, Women’s World of Boxing founder Teresa Scott will teach boxing, and former Strala instructor Traci Copeland will lead a yoga class. Phaidra Knight, one of the top female rugby players in the world, will also teach a class, featuring WNBA stars.

Sounds like more than enough bad-ass women to kick your butt and make you feel awesome.

In addition to a DJ, a surprise musical guest will round out the event. And giveaways—plus new high-tech Nike gear on display—will abound.

Nike’s Celebration of Sport, June 23, 11:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m., Pier 46 at Charles St. and the Westside Hwy, www.facebook.com/nikewomen or www.laceystonefitness.com
