Recipe: The Total Reboot New Year Smoothie
Want to clear space for your full potential in 2013 and step into the new year energized? We thought so! That’s why you’ll want to plug in the Vitamix for this juicy, green-power–packed smoothie.
It’s designed for a full-body reboot: Each ingredient contains potent detoxifiers—and a great nutrition profile.
Protein-packed kale boosts alkalinity and calms inflammation, making it a great for food for releasing excess weight. Ginger plays backup by revving your digestion and circulation systems.
Humble celery is a natural diuretic that has the built-in bonus of hydrating electrolytes. (Buy it organic, though. It’s on the dirty dozen list!) Parsley can clear congestion and is a friend of your liver, spleen, and stressed-out adrenal glands. This means more energy and boosted immunity.
Dandelion root tea is a top liver detoxer, according to Traditional Chinese Medicine (and the many Western tea companies that bag it). And when your liver’s functioning optimally, it’s much better at removing waste, breaking down fats, and supporting your digestion and health.

The Total Reboot New Year Smoothie
Blend and enjoy!
2 kale leaves
1 celery stalk
Handful of parsley
2 capsules of AHA Super Blue-Green Algae or 1 tbs liquid chlorophyll
1-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled
1 cup dandelion root tea, brewed and chilled
1 Tbsp organic raw honey
Juice of half a lemon
Oh my gosh – this looks delish! Definitely one to add to my green smoothie repertoire! xx
It’s seriously good! I’m about to make ANOTHER one, and adding some avocado this time…
This looks really good — any recommended sources for the dandelion tea? Just ordered some chlorophyll, adding this to the list of weekly juices + smoothies.
Is this a juice or a smoothie?? The picture looks like a juice, but the directions say to blend. Sounds delicious and healthy either way!
It’s a juicy smoothie when you use a hearty blender like the Vitamix. Enjoy!
This is amazing. I’ve been having green juices as I couldn’t find any good smoothie recipes for the past couple of months and started to fall off the healthy bandwagon in Dec out of sheer boredom (okay, and the candy); this is the perfect reboot and totally delicious too! Thanks!
This was so easy to make! The kale makes it taste a bit potent, so I counteracted the bitterness with some apple juice. I also left out the organic honey (I’m allergic to ALL types of honey ; weird, huh?) and doubled all ingredients to make enough to last me two days. Great post, I’ll be back for more!

Another great recipe.
