My Five Beauty Obsessions: Gala Darling
For starters, the New Zealand native turned New Yorker is the beauty and style editor for xoJane.
Plus she writes about beauty for countless other publications, and maintains her own blog, GalaDarling.com, where she shares fashion and beauty picks, a penchant for bunny ears, and her thoughts on “radical self love.” (That’s a kind of beauty, too.)
We checked in with the tattooed bombshell to find out what natural products she can’t live without right now:
1. Treat Whipped Coconut Tahitian Vanilla Organic Body Cream ($19)
This company is the undisputed champion of all things soft and lovely! Their lip balms ($8) are the best I’ve ever tried and I keep a tub of their body cream next to my desk to keep my paws from drying out. (Even better, it smells like a tropical vacation.)
2. Mario Badescu Facial Spray ($7)
This spritz with with aloe, herbs, and rosewater is what I use to set my make-up. It adds a Photoshop-in-real-life kind of air! I don’t know how they do it, but it’s fabulous.
3. The Beauty Pill ($48)
This vitamin comes in a pink-striped glass bottle and is rich in biotin, CoQ10, lutein, lycopene, alpha lipoic acid. Magical beauty pills? Yes!
4. A slew of fantastic serums and oils for night.
At the moment I’m applying Tarte’s Maracuja Oil ($38) and Lancome Visionnaire Advanced Skin Corrector ($62) before bed, and the results are fantastic. I might have found my holy grail in these two. That said, I’ll probably keep trying more. I do love to try skin treatments…
5. Skin and Bones Luxurious Moisturizer ($76)
This incredible blend of essential oils is really the only moisturizer you’ll ever need. It does everything, smells so good, and leaves your skin feeling soft and supple. It’s also organic.
Beauty Bonus! La Petite Robe Noire by Guerlain ($64) My new favorite perfume. I describe it as “Lolita Lempicka in Louboutins.” It’s sexy, dangerous, innocent, with an edge. —Lisa Elaine Held
