Lentil And Barley Burger
Dubuque, Carroll Gardens
“This vegan burger ($11) is made with honest ingredients—mostly French lentils and barley, and has a great texture. It also has a rich flavor—so it might be cooked in the deep fryer. (Hey, that’s okay!)
It’s served with a big squirt of harissa, which manages to bring all the flavors into focus rather than overtake them, plus a handful of arugula and the requisite tomato and onion. For a place that serves few vegetarian items, it’s an exciting find.”

lame representation of gluten*free provision as an alternative…friedman’s deli in chelsea market is a stellar menu offering scrumptious house~made creations for the vegan, organic gluten~free soul.
If it’s cooked in the deep fryer that’s used for meat it’s not a veggie burger.
You should really include Dean and Deluca’s veggie burger. It’s heavenly.
Taste? OK maybe you got your pick based on taste, satisfaction, deal…
My take is, most who eat a veggie burger are doing so for health reasons. Did you know NYC tap water has over 450 pharmaceuticals among other contaminates. Is your veggie burger made with Yummy NYC tap water? Quintessence filters their water down to 2 microns. Eliminating Fluoride and all the other contaminates of concern. I like Quintessence burger myself!
